Namtso Lake Trek

Namtso Lake TrekNam Tso is situated 190 km North of the Lhasa, it is one of the most famous lakes in Tibet. as well as being a very important pilgrimage sight. In the Tibetan “Nam” means Sky and “Tso” means Lake. The lake plays sanctuary to many species of migrating birds and other local birds. This is second largest saltwater lake in China and Chinese controlled territories it is the largest in Tibet, it is approximately 70km long and 30km wide. The Lake is easily accessible from Lhasa. While driving to Nam Tso from Lhasa,we cross over the high pass of Yangpachen (5630 m.). It takes at least 21 days to circle the shores of the entire lake.

Itinerary in Details

Days 01 :

Fly, Kathmandu / Lhasa and drive to Tsedang.

Days 02 :

Visit: Potala Palace, Sera Monastery & Norbulingkha Palace

Days 03 :

Visit: Jokhang Temple, Drepung Monastery & Barkhor Market

Days 04 :

At leisure

Days 05 :

Morning drive to Damxung and start trekking.

Days 06 :

Trekking around Namtso Lake.

Days 07 :

Trek around Nam Tso Lake.

Days 08 :

Trek back to Nagenla Pass and drive to Lhasa.

Days 09 :

Lhasa / Gyantse

Days 10 :

Gyantse / Shigatse

Days 11 :

Shigatse / Lhatse

Days 12 :

Lhatse / Tingri

Days 13 :

Tingri / Nyalam

Days 14 :

Nyalam / Zhang-Mu / Kathmandu

Service Includes :

All necessary travel / trekking permits
Necessary surface transportation in Tibet by Land Cruiser
Middle class accommodation with breakfast apart from trekking.
Guided sightseeing tour in Lhasa with all entrance fees
An English speaking Tibetan guide
Full board camping during the trek.
